I will stamp all over 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
